Default Vintage Baseball Cap Identification Question

I primarily collect cards but have added a few pieces of memorabilia to the man cave the last few years. I’m interested in adding a vintage Deadball era cap. My question…is there a way to approximate the age of a cap based on specific visible factors, such as the size of the brim? I know caps from this era had much shorter brims, but I see some that are really short, some in between, and some look closer to the 1940s-later style. If anyone could drop some knowledge on me or provide a source of good info on the topic I’d appreciate it.
