Default Vintage Baseball Glove Help Needed

I am interested in picking up some vintage baseball gloves but have no idea what I am looking at. You guys all have a vast knowledge and I was hoping I could get some pointers. Where do I start? What should I look for? Thanks in advance.

Check with Joe Phillips ("bubbared" on eBay) who has a number of helpful guides and publications dealing with vintage gloves that should be very helpful getting started. Once you know which direction you want to head with your collecting (game-used, signature store models of your favorite players, etc) he can help with specific questions and point you in the right direction for what you're looking for (if not provide it himself, as he does a fair bit of selling as well). Though I've never met him in person, I've found him very personable in the e-mails I've exchanged with him.

The great thing about collecting vintage gloves is there are so many paths to choose. Usually it takes a little while to discover where your true interest lies. Two sites that may be helpful to you are http://www.baseballglovecollector.com and http://www.vintagebaseballgloveforum.com - there are tons of great pictures and discussions. If you are going to be attending the National in Chicago, stop by booth 542 and we'll help you get started.

Thank you guys. The websites are great. I have a lot to look over. Hoping to start picking some things up soon.

Not sure what area to collect yet though. Maybe it will come to me as I shop around.
