Its a good day for baseball birthdays, besides Frisch, they is also hall of famers Waite Hoyt and Frank Chance and on a personal note there is Abner Dalrymple (the first batter in Pirates history) and Dots Miller, not only a Pirates great(2b for the 1909 WS winners) but he was born in the same hometown as yours truly,Kearny, NJ living just a couple blocks from my grandfather for a short time and only a block from where I first lived...While my grandfather was alive when he lived there,I narrowly missed him by about 55 years

PS My dog ate my Frisch scan

My Frank Fordham Flash Frisches. A reminiscence with a hollow filling follows . .

Back in the fifties in order to get to our house in the GI Bill Rotting Shack section of New Rochelle we had to drive past Frankie Frisch's stately home on Fenimore Road. Always hoped to catch a glimpse of the man maybe mowing the lawn in his uniform or arguing with the milkman or something but alas never once saw him.
