Default Roger Maris Autograph, Opinion needed

I bought this Roger Maris autograph years ago ( Card show in Roanoke, VA ).
Anyhow, I have this hanging on my wall, but would like an opinion of likely or not
likely. I don't plan on selling it. I would have sent it off to JSA, but the picture is
adhered to a plaque with a piece of plexiglass covering it. Any opinions would be
appreciated.

I don't like it . Too much sloppiness, and stuff you usually don't see in a Real Maris.

Thanks for your opinion Scott. I've had a well know authenticator look at it, and
he was not sure either, but when I told him who I bought it from, he said it's
probably good. This was not re-assuring to me. Anyhow, I like the picture and
have no plans on trying to sell it. By the way, I paid $50 for it back in 1985.

I just sold this photo, so this is not an advertisement.
Here is an authentic Maris, feel free to compare to the photo that is posted.

I was thinking of Richard's when I made my statement. On the one in this thread, the R looks really thin, and other letter formation off, especially the way the s finishes. Also, I was told by an old time collector once that Maris rarely dots the I, mostly does a circle or close to circular deal instead. Richards looks much more like that, as well as being a perfect sig overall. whoever got that sure got a winner of an autograph

I appreciate the samples of some very nice Maris signatures. The signed 1958
Topps card is awesome. Richard's signed photo is absolutely beautiful. I am
also grateful for the synopsis of his signing habits. As I said earlier, the picture
is mounted on a plaque with a plexiglass cover and a name plate. Back in the
1980's, there was a company that advertised these picture plaques in the SCD.
Not sure if they're still around.

Peter - your scan is crummy .
I think what you have is the early in career Maris signature which would fit the era of that card of his.
A better scan would help.
Mine was signed in 1982, to Yvonne, a dental assistant in Maris' dentists office. She told me that Maris actually brought the picture into the office for her after she asked for an autograph.

Here's Fudd's Maris for comparison. It looked good to me when I bought it 5 years ago or so. A little faded so I hope it's not too hard to see. It does have an alphabet full letter, so who knows these days about authenticity???

This was the most tempting piece from my last list.
If it was not personalized I think I could have sold it six times at a lot more money than I did sell it for.

That is a very early Maris, he probably signed that card the year it came out.

Default Maris as a Cardinal Too

One of my favorite pieces, the Maris signature is on an unscored scorecard.
