Default BGS/JSA crossover to SGC/JSA

I have a card that is slabbed in a BGS holder with JSA certification. I want to cross it over to an SGC slab because I like the look better and to get a numberic grade on the card as well.

Anyone know how I would go about doing this?

Thanks,

Brent

according to their website, they dont authenticate:

Misc.

Ticket stubs
Non-pack issued autographed cards
1954 T129 Redman Indian Chiefs
Memorabilia/Jersey/Bat/Relic cards thicker than 2.5-3 times the thickness of a standard card
Any coins, pins, buttons, or similar pieces

It is already authenticated, I just want it in an SGC slab and a numeric grade.

well, you mentioned SGC/JSA in the title...i dont think that will crossover.

anyhow, again, according to their website, a crossover would be just like a regular submission and pricing would be based on their tier list. there are some good specials this month.

Well it is certified by JSA, and SGC does JSA certification as well. I know board members have done it, just can't recall who

I believe SGC still has a telephone. They should be able to give you an answer.

I've done it. It's just a standard crossover since the JSA cert number is the same.

Haha. Thank you. I rarely hardly ever submit anything, so not too familiar with this process.

Default i honestly dont get

Why people like the holders. Cheap quality plastic, no studies done on effect of insert on cards, the cards sliding under or bumping against insert. the hand cut insert around the card, and the UGLY 1980's looking labels, not to mention the cumbersome size. The oversized holders are even more pathetic in my opinion.

It reminds me of a matted and framed picture. I think they have similar appeal.

I love the SGC holders - the best looking of all TPG.

Glyn, I think they frame the cards nicely and provide readily accessible cataloging information.

If the materials freak you out, go with Beckett. Their baggy inserts are made of polypropylene, a material that is considered to be stable for long term storage. I just don't think they look as nice

While I can somewhat understand the sliding card critique, how you think the plastic in any other holder is better, or the printing on any other label is clearer (or less "1980's looking") is wholly beyond me. SGC cards photograph/scan SO much better than their competitors, it's really not even close.

I paid to move this beauty from PSA to SGC, and it was worth every penny...

And, I don't own this one any more, but there is no doubt that SGC is better for viewing online than BGS:

That's why SGC appeals to me so much. It's not so much of the grade I care about, but with T206's or smaller cards, IMO, the black bordering of the slab makes it just a gorgeous looking piece. And I don't ever need to worry about a card sliding out with it being in storage. You can pretty much say that about every single card holder, rigid or slabbed except beckett most likely.

But I like the protection of the card in a slab, and I can't remember if SGC does this, but what was great with GAI long ago was that on the top border of the slab they labeled the card, so it was easy to grab and find what you're looking for in storage too.
