Default Arky turns 100!

My all-time favorite player, Joseph Floyd "Arky" Vaughan, turns 100 tomorrow! Celebrate by showing your favorite Arky cards from your collection. I'll start it off with a few from mine.

1936 Wheaties Series 3, noting Arky's legendary 1935 season:

With his mentor, Honus Wagner:

Love the '36 WWG, Brian - I'm hoping to add one to my collection in the future. I've found it to be one of the more elusive Arky cards.

Matt - nice 1933 Worch! That's another hole in my Arky collection that I am hoping to fill in the future. It's a tough card and you have a really nice example.

Incidentally, the 1933 Worch issue is only one example of the many ways that Arky's named was butchered over the years by card manufacturers. The correct spelling is Floyd "Arky" Vaughan, but I have seen all of the following used on cards: Lloyd Vaughan, Floyd Vaughn, Arky Vaughn, Arkie Vaughan.

Very Nice Writeup of Vaughan thanks for sharing. I'm not a card collector but do like collecting anything I can find of Vaughan. He's also one of my all time favorites. Along with the Wheaties are 3 different mini pennants of him, a Centennial Mini bat w/ box and an original photo of him hitting his first of 2 home runs during the 1941 All Star Game. Of Course, his day at the plate would soon be forgotten after Ted's 9th inning heroics.
