ID This Pee Wee Reese Photo. Possible team pack? Berk Ross

Can anyone help me ID this specific Reese photo? Same as the Berk Ross card.

These drive me nuts. I have identified and forgotten what they are several times now. By others I have had they are likely late 40's but I'm drawing a blank on what they are, sorry for the non-help

I've never understood what Pee Wee is trying to do in that photo. It doesn't look like he's catching a ball. And he's certainly not diving into a base since he has his glove on. Any ideas?

Well it's pretty clearly a photo from Spring Training. Maybe someone here is an arborist or dendrologist who can narrow down the locale from the background-- or just someone familiar with trees, which excludes me

I don't think that's Florida or Bear Mountain. The trees seem too lush for either, especially the latter in March.

I think it's definitely Vero late 40's. The artificial hill/mound that surrounded Holman is visible and there were numerous deciduous trees after it opened and the root bases under his armpit and by the foot look like palms.

OK, maybe a palm tree base off to the right? Found this online, 1947 Havana, no palms visible, although they appear in other Havana shots:

I think the other thread was about a bunch of similar photos. That script name style was ubiquitous to the late 1940s and early 1950s and was used a lot by National Studios in its work.

These were available for sale in sports magazines of the late 1940's-1950's era.

They kind of look like Manny's Baseball Land photos, so maybe they sold them?

In about 2005 or so I sold a couple hundred original negatives used to produce these. They were all 8 x 10" negatives and came from a archive on Long Island if that helps anybody nail down who made them. The subjects were not only Baseball, but also Hockey, Football, Golf, Motor Boating, Track Stars, etc. Even though they were printed 1940's-1950's, the players were sometimes from an earlier era.
