HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY weekend everyone
That's me in 1960 enlisted in an 11-month Air Force Radar Specialist School in Illinois. Then in 1961 was stationed at a
B-52 Bomber Strategic Air Command (SAC) base in Northern Maine. It was a great 4-year experience, that I was really proud to be part of. Especially during the Fall of 1962 when the Cuban Missile crises occurred. That was scary stuff. The B-52 Bombers and F-102 Fighter planes from our SAC base were deployed to South Carolina and Florida bases ready in case some serious action against the "Russkies" was needed. In 1963 I was re-assigned to the Tech School in Illinois to teach Radar Electronics. Returned to civilian life in Aug. 1964. " straighten out that tie....Airman" .. Thanks to all you Military Veterans for your Service to this great Country. TED Z T206 Reference . |
