Default Help with my introduction to vintage original baseball photos

Vintage original photos have always caught my interest, I have not acquired any for my collection yet but its an area I would like to learn more about and start to explore. Like everything else I get involved with collecting, I like to take my time to learn about what it is I'm about to dive into.

Does anyone have tips, suggestions and information to start me off? Are there any websites out there that have good reputable reference materials, etc. for vintage photographs? I know nothing about vintage photographs so anything will help!

Hey Mark,

I agree 100% with Jeff.

Also, they're a ton of people on this board who will be able and willing to aid in that education.

Enjoy!

If you're interested in areas of other than news photos, my book covers other areas like cabinet cards, tintypes and postcards. And it does have a section on news photos, wirephotos, etc.

Judging the Authenticity of Photographs (5th edition)

I also have a free web version. It's an old version, from several years ago, but has the basic info. I haven't updated in in a long time, but old photos are old.

None of my books has been endorsed by PSA/DNA, so that's good right?

David (drc) is also an excellent source of information for old photographs!
