Default 1968 Topps Dick Tracewski

I can't believe I never noticed this before, but what is going on with this card?? Guy looks like a human bobble-head...

hmm, not really seeing that, but love those classic shots with Yankee stadium façade in background...I bet Topps did hundreds of that shot over the years

Now thats a nice project for someone...collect or post all the vintage cards with that Yankee stadium backdrop

Since Topps was based out of NY and except for 1958-61 both leagues had teams going through NY, there are a lot of photos with the NY stadiums in the background

Ebbetts Field, Polo Grounds, Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium

Let's expand the challenge and get all the stadia involved

Rich

318. Mets Runway (also The Batwalk)
The patch of ground between the visitors’ dugout and the third base line at Shea Stadium where every National Leaguer was forced to walk to and pose for Topps photographers.

I see it! Maybe not quite as pronounced, but it’s definitely there. I’m guessing he had a naturally large noggin, plus a bit of an optical illusion here combined to make it extra abnormally large.

You want to talk about a goofy image on a card, this gets my vote for most ridiculous looking of all time. Now please don't get me wrong, I love Roy Campanella. He is one of my favorite ballplayers ever. But this makes him look like Mr. Potato Head.
