Default 1919-1925 Chicago White Sox game used pants

1919-1924 CHICAGO WHITE SOX STYLE GAME USED PANTS.
MANUFACTURED BY
GREAT WESTERN ATHLETIC GOODS CO. CHICAGO
PRE WILSON SPORTING GOODS COMPANY

HISTORY

White Sox uniforms from 1916 through the early 1920s were manufactured by Thos. E. Wilson & Co. and the Western Sporting Goods Mfg. Co., not Spalding. In 1925, these two Chicago companies merged to form what is today called Wilson Sporting Goods.

THE INSIDE BAND OF THE PANTS IN BLACK MARKER IS 8 C. SCHALK. WE BELIEVE THIS WAS ADDED SOMETIME AFTER 1925 AND IS NOTED FOR ACCURACY AND IS NOT OR CLAIM TO BE WORN BY RAY SCHALK OF THE 1919 CHICAGO WHITE SOX.

I need help to determine that these are pants from the Chicago White Sox. i searched the net and past auction catalogs. i didn't come up with another game worn White Sox pants from 1919-1925. They are the correct labeling and style. In the Hall of Shame Barry Halper Joe Jackson uniform which was purchased by the Hall of Fame was determined a "Fake" because it didn't have a GREAT WESTERN ATHLETIC GOODS CO. CHICAGO label. It had a Spalding label which was incorrect.

This may be the only Chicago White Sox game worn pants from 1919-1925 in hobby. Any informational, please let me know.

The following information below is the only Chicago White Sox 1919 World Series jersey information I found and again it says that the label has to be the GREAT WESTERN ATHLETIC GOODS CO. CHICAGO to be correct. Please read;

The Hall of Fame uniform collection is also an important resource for research. The only other*Jackson-era White Sox uniforms in the Hall’s collection are two authentic 1917 home uniforms made for the World Series by the Western Sporting Goods Co.*of Chicago. One was worn by coach “Kid” Gleason and the other by Hall of Fame catcher Ray Schalk. Gleason and Schalk saved the uniforms as trophies of their World Series victory; decades later the flannels found their way to Cooperstown as donations to the museum.

LAST PHOTO IS OF THE 1919 CHICAGO WHITE SOX WEARING THE SAME STYLE UNIFORM. THE WHITE SOX WORE THREE STYLES OF UNIFORM INCLUDING A STRIPE STYLE UNIFORM JUST LIKE MY PANTS BELOW.

Thank you for you info. I am aware that the white sox wore three styles of jersey. The one photo you uploaded and the style of pants i attached photos to. I have also included a photo of the 1919 chicago white sox wearing my style jersey and pants.

So what makes them white sox pants? Tons of pants were pinstripes back then and I'm sure that company made hundreds of pants for teams from the white sox to minors to local high school teams.

Im not saying that they are White Sox pants. I am saying that they are White Sox Style pants? What i'm also saying is that they are rare - I can't seem to find another pair with the Great Western Label either a White Sox, College or High School team uniform. I'm trying to find information on these White Sox Style pants and why there is not another sample out there????The collector I purchased them from purchased them in the 1980's and was told that they were White Sox Pants. Either Way a Rare pair of baseball uniform pants with a Rare label from 1919-1925.

It's more likely Schalk's name would have been stitched into the pants rather than written with a marker. Markers were not invented until the 1950's.

Why would someone write Schalk's name into those pants with something that wasn't invented until 30 to 40 years after the pants were made? I have a pretty good idea why.
