Default Ugliest HOF Pre-War Card

And I don't mean card condition! What do you consider to be the ugliest pre-war card out there for a hall of fame player? Plenty out there to choose from...let's see em.

Can I choose a set? Because, Mother of God, I think the 38 Goudey set is putrid. Some Iconic players in that set, only to be ruined by a terrible design in my opinion. I know it appeals to some but I just can't get over such a goofy card design

I've always thought this was a particularly ugly card.

I actually like/tolerate a lot of strip cards, but here some Hall of Fame strip card examples that are, in my opinion, spectacularly sucktastic...W515 of Cobb, W590 of Gehrig, W9316 of Sisler, and W515 of Cobb

Brian (only own the Sisler)

Those Ruth cards are awful. It's going to be hard to beat those, although I'm sure there will plenty of competition. On a side note about 1938 Goudey cards, they kind of have a certain charm. It's a love em' or hate em' thing for most I guess.

This is likely the ugliest Ruth card ever issued, although it doesn't qualify for this thread as it is a 1949 issue. But since we are piling on the ugly Ruth cards...

I had one of those one time and couldn't wait to get rid of it despite it being Ruth. The fact that it has grown in value is the only thing I miss about it.

Default Should be HOFer!

Should be HOFer, Joe Jackson.

Ineligible for the HOF due to Black Sox scandal and wearing lipstick on his E90-1 card. Say it ain't so Joe!

Had to do a search for this one. The Cobb with the yellow background is the ugliest card I've ever seen that I recall.

No it is not Eddie. The E93 shown does not picture Eddie Collins, but instead Jimmy Collins...this card has been misidentified since the beginning of collecting time. And no matter who it is, it has never been a favorite of mine.

Or perhaps it is supposed to be Andy Rooney doing a pouty Babe Ruth impersonation.

Yeah, this one HAS to be the winner. Pre-War? Well it was before some war, right?

I know it happened much later than the card, but every time I see the Eddie (Jimmy) Collins card I think of Jackie Gleason on tv just about to make a turn.
