player named Bob Black that played one season for Kansas City Unions in 1884. It is a far cry but I thought I would ask?? Or a possible team picture of the 1904 Burlington River Rats, Iowa State League Team? I know this is asking way to much. Thank you in advance.

I have a Iowa State League cabinet that I think is the Burlington Team of 1904. The cabinet say's Iowa State League BUT the uniforms say E'BURG(no team in the Iowa State League called E'BURG) The League was operated on 50% donations and 50% from gate or tickets. My thought is the uniform were given to this 1st yr team in 1904 as a donation? A team picture of the 1904 Burlington River Rats would be great.. Thank u in advance.

The above photo is from the 1904 Burlington team picture - they have a "B" on the uniforms. I will email it to you off line.

Hi Jim, you bought that from one of my buddies here in Lincoln. His house is crammed floor to roof with all kinds of stuff...and he lets people come over to look at it.

E'Burg is quite possibly Emmetsburg, IA,a small town in the NW (mostly North)part of the State, and a pretty good distance from Burlington, which is in the SE corner or so of Iowa.

I read that the Iowa State League was paid by 50 percent donation and 50 percent gates or tickets. So my thought was the uniforms are a donation from E'BURG at the stat of the 1st yr of the league 1904(Maybe the B on the uniforms came later?). The photo say's Iowa State League?? Neat piece but no clue?? Any help would be great.

George Stovall played on this team the first part of 1904 I read? He is not in the 1905 Spalding guide so maybe that wa the team at the end of 1904? No clue.

It's from the 1905 Spalding Guide - so it would be the 1904 team. - all ID'd players were on the 1904 roster. Stoval is one of several players on the roster but not in the photo.
