Default O/T - Scarce Willie Mays Pinback Question

Posted By: andypcl

I'm finally posting this one in an attempt to learn a little about it's origin and how many there may be out there. Someone told me a long time ago that it was given to a group going to Hawaii for a golf tournament that Mays was part of. It's issued by a button company with a code on it so I assumed it was a sample of a design that Green Duck manufactured. I only know of one other that resides in Florida. Any help would be appreciated.

The ASI 5814. Could that be a Union? I guess you checked into that already.

Default O/T - Scarce Willie Mays Pinback Question

Hi Paul,

I've always thought that ASI 5814 probably was a catalogue number referring to a certain style of button that could be ordered from Green Duck. Lithello was a product that the Green Duck brochures at the time (around 72') advertised as a litho button with a cello like coating. I'm thinking this was a sort of sales sample of some kind.
