Default Help on a Babe Ruth Photo/Premium

I got this Babe Ruth photograph in a trade at the National and seeking more info on it. It appears like most photos from the mid to late 1920's with a stamped numeral on the back, measuring 2 3/8" x 4 11/16". It has Babe Ruth's autographed etched into the image and below that some other etching, which i believe is probably the photographer(it appears reversed on the photo). I have been told there is also a similar Lou Gehrig, so these might have been mass produced from the negative for some sort of use OR it might be a one-off.

Any info appreciated.

Scott

Hey Scott- They've been discussed before on the card forum & no one really has an answer as to what they are. There seems to be a handful of each. Here's my Gehrig.
