I have decided to pare down my sports accumulation and am looking for advice on selling a complete run of Sport magazine. 95% are in NR MT.

Many older copies have mailing labels and due to the square binding and the glue used there is normal chipping and cover wear. Insides are 100% perfect.

Who might be interested in such a collectible and how would you price the entire lot? Selling them one at a time would be impossible due to the large volume. time constraints etc.

Any input will be appreciated. My email is mkbow2@surewest.net

Thanks a lot.

Mark

Bringing this back to the top once more. Surely somebody has some ideas about a complete run of Sport with all of the vintage color pix. Thanks.

Hi Mark, perhaps you could have Andy sell them by the year on ebay? That may get you your maximum $$$ on the lot and it would be easier to ship..a full year should be able to be shipped in the USPS Priority flat rate boxes for $8.95.

some suggestions: 1.sell by year 12 issue runs
2.sell all the best issues (cvr's w/mantle, mays ted williams ie "the greats" alone, group the lesser issues by sport.
3.set a price that you are fine with for the entire collection and use the make an offer and see if you get any hits, use a 10 day auction format.
also to add:magazines can ship media mail to keep the shipping cost very low.

Thanks Dennis. I knew there had to be somebody in the N54 world with an idea about these. These would really be a nice addition to a pub collector. There can't be that many complete runs floating around. Thanks again.

Mark -

That's great stuff !!! You could try offering the entire collection for a price with pickup only. That way both you & the buyer don't have to worry about shipping details. I wish I wasn't such a poor slob. I'd buy your collection in an instant.

Good luck !!!
Alan

Hey Alan, thanks for the thought. I'm still wondering what to do with the Sport run that I started collecting when I was a kid. They have to be of interest to somebody out there - I just have to find out who.
