Dick Howser letters
I don't post often just from intimidation of the amazing finds that I love to see on this site but as a KC fan I has to ask about this great find . These came out of an old attic and was shocked ! They have the envelopes they were in as well. Does anyone know if these have any value and should the envelopes be framed with them ? Any info is great.

Enjoy them as a KC fan but the value is not high.
Content is interesting but the marketability is limited.

If it's convenient, I'd frame the envelopes with the letters. I think that adds to the display value as artifacts/documents. Just my opinion of course.

Clyde Klutz
I think they are neat, especially the second one which references coaching innovators, but also it is signed by Clyde Klutz, who is fairly famous to anyone who has ever read The Great American Baseball Card Trading and Bubblegum book.

As a letter carrier who loves mail related items, I think they are great! I just wish you had included scans of the envelopes.

I didn't look that hard at them earlier when I got them but one looks like it might have been just dropped off at his locker the other was actually mailed but oddly mailed from Municipal stadium too Municipal stadium

I would create a paper pouch (larger than the envelope) on the back of the frame and slip the envelopes in them. Best that this stuff is kept together.

That is precisely the range of what I meant.

Hi Richard, I just didn't want him to think that they only worth a few dollars each.
In terms of the envelopes...I love when I have the letter with the original mailing envelope...many times it completes the story and establishes excellent provenance. Jeff |

I seen these for sale on Craigslist...did you buy the whole lot or just the Howser items? Was there anything else vintage/decent in the lot? Cool pickup...Ive always liked anything KC athletics related Last edited by gashouse34; 01-25-2015 at 02:43 PM. |

I'm not a baseball card guy so the only thing I was interested in was the letters . The cards themselves looked newer and generally not exciting. I got the letters for 20.00 and am very happy with that especially since they wanted 200.00 for the lot.
