Default t206 Grading for Pen marks on back of card: SGC vs PSA

I have a few off back T206 cards like the Konetchy EPDG and the Overall Sovereign below that I wanted to send in for grading. Normally if the factory is irrelevant I send them to SGC. I was going to send these to SGC but I recall hearing somewhere that SGC is really hard on cards with pen or pencil marks? Like you wont get above a 2. PSA I know does the qualifier MK and grades the card normally. I have had success with PSA in the past getting a few 3s with the qualifier.

Curious if anyone has any experience with SGC being extra hard on cards with marks or writing on them.

Much Appreciated.

Either way, you're looking at a 1.5 at SGC (most likely) or a 2(MK) or 3(MK) from PSA.

When it comes to PSA, you're really talking 2 things: the Set Registry/collectors and the grade.
Quote:
Bonus Points and Deductions
Some sets may have bonus points assigned to certain items within a set.

Additionally, the following point deductions are taken for Qualifiers. For example, if your card or ticket is graded PSA 9Q, the grade calculation in the Registry will be 7.

9Q = -2
8Q = -2
7Q = -2
6Q = -2
5Q = -2
4Q = -2
3Q = -1
2Q = -1
1Q & 1.5Q = no deduction
So if they get a 3(MK), they're considered a 2 for registry purposes; if they get a 2(MK), they're considered a 1. However, if they get a FAIR 1.5 (MK) -not actually considered a half grade, so possible - they are still worth a 1.5 for the registry competition.

For these, I don't think it matters that much. They're low grade with or without the marks. If they were like 6(MK), they'd be more valuable as PSA 4s for the registry.

I hate the way that PSA uses qualifiers and much prefer the SGC system. Saying that this card is a 4 except that it has a pen mark is like saying that my wife is gorgeous except that she’s fat. Doesn’t work for me.
