I'm unfamiliar with the boxer or studio history, but the style and color of mount and small, conservative text at bottom is consistent with the era you quote. Without your text, I would call it a "typical 1870s style cabinet." |

very nice early photo, Mace was a top fighter of his time and early items are hard to find. Most of the time you see just Harper Weekly prints of fights from the 1870s and 1880s, but not cabinet cards |
