I can't recall with a 100% certainty but a well known hockey guru stated on a popular hockey/sports card broadcast that I listened to around/just over a year ago that many of these cases exist. When the podcaster asked why these people who own them don't cash them in/auction them off, he stated they simply don't need the money and aren't really interested.
Where it is foggy, and I can't find that particular episode, was whether he actually said cases or boxes?
I guess we'll see, maybe, after this auction ends, how many come out but then again, if it was just boxes he was talking about, then maybe not?
