Default Top cards that I used to own - Let's see them

For those of us who couldn't keep our most cherished baseball card possessions forever, let's see the best of the best that you used to own.

I'll start off with a few of mine.......

Default N172 Tug Wilson

Tug Wilson, aka Joe Miller in the N172 set. I sold him when we needed money to repair our NJ shore house after Superstorm Sandy.

Default great cards we used to own

I've noticed that these threads are not at all cathartic, just painful to me

1) Wilt's Fleer rookie SGC 84

2) 1952 Topps Willie Mays SGC 60

I have no photos, just scars

I hand carried this baby to PSA and waited while this one and my 53 were graded. I still have the 53 and miss this beauty greatly.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I think this Mantle was crossed over to a different grading companies slab. Still a beauty though.

No idea. I sold it to a gentleman back East that was going to use it in one of his breaks as a prize or something like that. I don't recall his name, but he spoke like I should have recognized him as he thought he was some type of celebrity or something. I don't know, as I didn't try to keep up with it. All I know is he paid immediately and I shipped it to him. I never heard from him again.

I don't think I will ever own another and sure do miss this card. I wish I had it back, but needed the cash at the time for a remodel I was doing.

Here's a picture of the back. It had a little paper loss on the back, but was a sweet card overall.

Also I've included a picture of the 53 that was graded at the same time. I still have it.

Bought it in the late, 90's - for $75.
Sold it a while back for $625.

Still wish I had it though.

Looks like an upscale version of the one I still own Ben. I like to brag that I can readily identify the back as a Piedmont.

I try not to dwell on my exes, a lot of them have been used to fund my current loves. Here are three former cards that don't come up very often.

Damn, Phil, those are amazing…I’ve always coveted that Lefty Grove. Maybe one day…

For now, here are a few that now belong to someone else…some hurt more than others…many will likely never see the light of day again…

Nooooooo. Why would you move such an awesome card, unless you upgraded of course?

Leon, I remember your incredible auction well, having won the Davis Croft Red. As I recall, it was in aid of tuition aid for your college-bound daughter, a noble cause. Your collection was fabulous, and we at Net54 are grateful you stayed in the hobby and are rebuilding.

I have to go now. I have a lump in my throat.

All of them were Leon's - the entire auction! Leon had a fantastic type collection that I loved viewing online (still do on occasion). I won several cards from this auction, but wish I had won several more.

I sold the nicest of these two very scarce 1953-54 Briggs Meats cards of Mickey Mantle to fund purchases from Heritage's auction of Leon's fantastic collection back in 2015. An example of this Mantle card sold fairly recently for about 4-5 times what I sold mine for. Yes, the cards I got from Leon's collection have increased in value since 2015, but nothing like Mantle's cards.

The 1955 Topps Clemente and the 1956 Topps Mantle cards are cards I pulled from 5-cent wax packs when I was a kid.

I earlier posted my 52 Topps Mantle that I sold, and didn't think I had pictures of a couple of my 52 Bowman's that I sold - I sold the entire set for pennies on the dollar. I looked through my pictures and there they were. The Mantle and Mays were graded, pictured below. I sure wish I had the set back! Again, I sent these raw to Beckett several years back.

Nothing compared to Leon's, but I still miss them!

I used to own this 1911 Pinkerton Joe Jackson.

It would have looked good on My Joe Jackson Run but I sold it to get my Rookie Ruth. So sad in one way and happy in another

Hopefully in the future I can re-own it

The most beautiful set ever made

The JJ was cracked out of a SGC 5 and still can't believe PSA gave it a 3.5 (especially when you compare to the Cobb 5 below it)

+1. Nothing like the cracker jacks. Sick cards BTW

That said, T3 is pretty close on most beautiful set

I don’t sell/part with much, so I don’t have much to regret. That said, I wish I still had these two 1916 Joe Jacksons. I traded them to Jeff for a 1914 Joe Jackson Cracker Jack, which I later traded to Ethan VT for a 1908 Greenville Spinner team cabinet with Joe Jackson. Here are the Joe Jacksons I used to own
