Couldn’t help myself today, and continue to build my Topps issued 80s. Just love the Gwynn and Mattingly and of course as a Braves fan been looking for a couple nice copies of Glavine and Smoltz.

It may take a while, but I think he's a HOFer. An excellent buy-low player.

Agreed...with prices on the stuff I usually buy through the roof, I’ve been buying some low-pop graded Lofton...and buying some raw and submitting to PSA, as well.

A few other guys I think will eventually make HOF, too. It’s been fun!

I'm not seeing it. He only got votes in one year, 2013, and it was 3 percent. It would take a cosmic turnaround in perception of his career for him to make the Hall.

Very, very pleased to add Bo to my collection. He was waiting on me yesterday when I wandered into my LCS. Another childhood-era dream come true.

Just a great card that represented an exciting time in baseball. I always loved his 87 Topps, too. Cool pickup!

It'll have to come from the Veterans Committee.

I guess things change and anything is possible but he feels like a significantly weaker version of Tim Raines to me. Also he played for about 50 teams which won't help.

Tim Raines career WAR: 69.4
Kenny Lofton career WAR: 68.4

WAR isn’t everything, but I think the “lots of teams” thing masks a heck of a player.

And Lofton did play most of 10 seasons with Cleveland. He just also played a year or less for other 10 teams.

Hard to believe this inaugural issue still hasn't gotten any traction.

Default January 2021 Pickups

Found pretty good deals on a beautiful Alonso rookie and a nice Hoerner rookie for my son.

Updating for the Wander I bought from TheDDG. This was my first time buying on the forum and I can't imagine an easier process. It's like eBay without the fees. He couldn't have made it any easier and it was a great deal.

I loved those card when they first came out too, Ray.
I think, although this is just a guess, that because this was the era where cards were flooding the market (junk wax era) they are all being lumped in with that?
This one, however, which I posted in the link below, finished well, imo.

Peter and I were discussing it somewhat in this thread as well.

Bought a few Boxes of 1991 Stadium Club Series 1 and pulled this nice Griffey from the second pack I opened.

Congrats I had wanted one for years too when I finally picked up mine. One of a few cards I will be unlikely to ever sell.

I'm with you, Jesse. Some people have said "that's nothing but a junk wax printing error!", but that's missing the impact and importance the card has in the hobby. I love it.

Yea that card was the holy grail back in the day. More of a myth actually as a kid I had heard about it but never actually seen one. I bought this one maybe 3 years ago.

Ours look like twins, a little O/C top to bottom and a touch on the bottom right corner. Congrats on buying yours before the spike!
