I wonder if it is a repeat looking for another payoff? The biggest problem with blackmail is that once they know you will pay off...Like telemarketing: you answer one call and you are in the hell of endless further calls. No, I do not want an extended warranty on my car, f***tard.

Got this response this morning:

There was another attack on our servers last night, but fortunately, we were able to prevent the attackers from gaining control to the server data.
However, we must keep sites down today in order to prevent any further attacks onto the server while we work to implement security patches. These measures are being taken in order to also prevent any data loss to our sites since the breach attempt last night did not cause any data loss to occur.
We are aiming to have sites back up near the end of the day today.

The auction is off to the best start ever with number of bidders.

Per my conversation with Bob Freedman, he told me a hack was ATTEMPTED.
He also informed me they intentionally shut down all servers to ensure it could not be hacked. They are performing Maintanence to ensure there are no loopholes or back doors and then will reopen . Hence the email.
I was also told to expect to be online in a few hours, and there was no breech.

Btw the way, the word “ regular or scheduled maintenance “ appears no where in the email. It states facts

Any updates? Appears that all the auction sites, as well as Simple Auction Site itself, are still down.

The latest update we received is they are hoping to have it up in the morning. Let's hope so.

This auction started with the highest number of bidders of any auction and hope that continues.
