Does one of these have a premium attached to it as one is more rare? I own the PSA one (note the 2 white arrows pointing to the ball) and just copied the scan of the SGC one from eBay (note 2 white arrows are missing).

Is this a known variation?

The funny thing is I saw the difference right away (arrows) before I even read your post. Ive never seen this before. Ive owned about 10 of the portrait cards in the past, but never knew of the variation.

Now we just have to see which one is scarcer.

There are three on vintagecardprices.com, all without the arrows. Sounds like the arrows are tough!

Ive owned 2 complete boxes, just check the photos, and both had the arrows. I think Leon ownes one of them now.

I remember a guy about 10 years ago tell me that he saw one of the portrait cards that was part of a candy tray design. I never saw pictures of it, so dont know if its true. I just assumed they were all cut from the candy box, but you never know.

I find it interesting neither PSA nor SGC indicate something along the lines of "with arrows" or "no arrows" on the flips to differentiate.

The variation is uncatalogued. PSA/SGC usually go by what the catalogue/guides say, so dont know of it either. This is the first time Ive heard of the variation, and Im sure many others never heard of it either.
