The Spitzer saga will be better than watching Seinfeld.

Hi Jeff,
I have never heard anything good about the "Gov", but I have heard plenty of good things about the "Lt Gov" from almost everyone. Your thoughts?

Be well Brian

PS How can this guy think he can stay in office??

Brian, he's completely delusional. He actually thought that the public would forgive him -- which is absurd considering a) he barely barked out an apology during his 30 second press conference yesterday; and b) his approval rating was about 35% BEFORE this news hit. Apparently he's using his one bargaining chip left -- resigning the governorship -- in a negotiation with the feds on criminal charges. It's also come out that he spent upwards of 80K on hookers and liked to have sex without a condom. Not sure that a guy with judgment like this is fit to be a local dogcatcher let alone Governor of NY.

Sheesh! For that kind of money, he might as well have been throwing it away on baseball cards!

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the info... What's your take on his replacement?

Be well Brian

PS What does "House" say: Everybody lies....

If I hurt my family this way I would'nt be able to show my face in town much less on TV.... and trying to defend it would be beyond my scope.

Brian, there's not much known about Patterson other than the fact that he is legally blind. A Lt. Gov. in NY is never thought of as a realistic major political power; it's really just a minor job -- until now, of course.

As for Spitzer's inability to be embarrassed, this is what happens I suppose when your parents give you everything in life from Day 1. Arrogrance, entitlement and never having to say you're sorry. I would think that considering he's destroyed his family, humiliated his wife and has zero politcal future, the prudent thing to do was to resign immediately and work on gaining the trust of his family back. But who's to say what is in the mind of a guy who spends half a Wagner on hookers and doesn't like to wear condoms with them?

80K on hookers...I don't care if Marilyn Monroe rose from the dead, it's not worth it. He could have started a very nice T206 set and had some change left over.

Brian -- yes, twins and a just-finished trial. Good luck as well in a few weeks but I don't think you'll need it this year.

Barry, isn't it funny that whenever we hear of a large sum of money we immediately computer what type and how many cards we could buy with the amount?

He has a wife, who looks pretty darn good herself. As she is rich and will soon be available, I'm thinking that this might be a good time for Mike (hi, Mike) to be hitting the upper East Side bars-- Cougar patrol and all that...

Good one Joe

And Judd is right- if Michael can hook up with her and bring her to our Net54 dinners, we'll never have to pick up another tab again!

Joe- how about a headline that also incorporates a little baseball lingo:

I remember when the dot bomb happened in about 2000-2001. I think I lost a Wagner, a Plank, and a Magie (values) in the stock market......it sucked....That's about the time I took most of the rest and put it into cards. Luckey me for doing that......
