Default Another eBay buyer beware 1910 Joe jackson

Here we go again with another buyer beware

This 1910 old mill Joe jackson SGC 3 ends in a few hours and it has bids

https://www.ebay.com/itm/37386897466...4AAOSwlYRh3edB

This is a Picture of the one that Ryan H won and has displayed on his Flkr account.

Yet “here it is” bids and it is a great value so far of $1800.

The why and how I will leave to others

Given feedback of seller, usually people would have bid this up much higher, no? Or is this card so special everyone knows the auction is fake?

I realize their feedback percentage is high; however, they've gotten hundreds of negatives and neutrals

Friend sent me the link last night. He emailed the seller. No response. Agree with Peter - seller has tons of cards and a sales history so seems extra odd.

Even so, it's at well less than 1 percent of value if I remember the last sale.

It is a card and it was purchased by Ryan H. From this forum

It sold on HA from August 21, 2021 for $540k.

Great card and it is in his collection.

The eBay seller has a a ton of feedback points and seems to have a ton of other great cards for sale also.

Very odd and I cannot explain it but I wanted people to be aware.

So the seller is selling an auction house highlight list, but listed it as the graded card which a net54 member owns, correct?

The card pictured in the listing is my card. I bought it from Heritage and it is sitting in a safe in my house.

Either the guy is selling "something" that has a picture of my card on it and fronting like he is selling the actual card, or he is just straight up purporting to sell my card. I have never put a picture like that out on the internet (I dont have a picture like that), so not sure what that pic is.

I reported him on ebay (no place to put explanation) and I emailed him through email telling him its my card, calling him some very not-nice names.

Regardless, whoever is the lucky winner of this lot will not be receiving my T210 Jackson.

Man, the hobby is just chick full of scum bags

Usually a guy selling a T210 Joe Jackson isn't selling a Josh Donaldson jersey card in another auction. Just my 2 cents.

Like Peter was saying, this seller has been around awhile, and something doesn't make sense. Any possibility the seller's Ebay account could have been hacked?

I literally explained what this is in my post.

Heritage gave out “promo” cards at the national. Notice the back?

This is a pack of them. Think of it like business cards.

Yes it shouldn’t be listed but it’s no different than the other NSCC lucky 7 cobbs that are on eBay too.

The 2nd picture in the listing makes it fairly obvious what is being auctioned. Definitely not the original graded 3, just a modern ungraded “card.”

Yet, the winning bidder probably doesn’t realize this. I wonder if they’ll file an INAD claim. I wonder how the seller will respond.

you
I hate to admit it but I would not have realized it. There is nothing in the title or in the description that it is a modern ungraded copy.(except if you look carefully in category it says ungraded and yet in the sellers description it just says look at picture to ensure you know what you are buying. )
It does not say modern and it does not say that it is a promo. I had no idea what that back was as I never seen it or understood it.

Luckily it is clarified here but not sure if all the bidders have that clarity.

$41k for a promo pack. What a horrible scam. I wonder how this will playout. It's clearly not labeled as anything but the actual card.

Imagine this INAD claim:

The item was listed as used. Seller sent me a brand new, shrink wrapped product…

Late bidding, I am so used to PWCC auctions I'd forgotten how a real one works.

It is a great image

But that price is insane for a “Nationals Promo Card” image of a Old Mills Joe Jackson Card

But to me many of the bidder have no idea it is a promo card and sadly to me it was not clear or obvious what it was based on the photos or description.

Sadly when and if that seller tries to resell it they are going to get a rude awakening and a major loss.

Hopefully between the buyer and seller they can work it out.

Seller was profiled in this news story. They've got quite the consignment operation going.

https://www.nbc12.com/2021/09/28/tra...ing-card-boom/

That many negative reviews on Ebay is very troubling.

Perhaps that means they want feedback from 100% of their clients, happy or not.

Selling items like this, they may achieve their goal.

Someone else has alluded to this but I should think the buyer has a case, even though the seller says No Returns, as the listing says UNGRADED and the card in question is clearly graded.

Just an fyi, this ebay seller "dcsports87" (or someone that works for this seller) is a board member and occasaionally posts to Net54 about cards they are selling on ebay.

I believe the username is "salvadorjcasillas"

I know this because he was selling a 1934 Goudey Hank Greenberg and I responded to his post asking why the grade was so low for a card that looked like it was in good shape:https://www.ebay.com/itm/37381426375...IAAOSwrPJhqkzL and the seller responded with a better picture of the back of the card.

But I just looked through my posts and my response is no longer listed. So perhaps he deleted the thread?

But there are still other threads by them, such as recently as 10 days ago: https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=312714

+1 agreed it makes sellers look bad and the more in experienced buyers and /or new money hesitate to make buys.

The buyer's case is that the seller is not going to deliver the item represented in the title. No need for nuance here.

I must be missing your point, sorry. To me the issue is not graded or ungraded or how a box in the listing is checked, it's that the seller does not own the card and therefore cannot deliver it.
