Default Mickey Mantle Signed OAL Baseball Opinion

Unfortunately my father passed away unexpectedly and I am now in the process of trying to inventory his collection so I have a better sense of what he had and then make some decisions as to what to do with the items (most will probably be kept but some may become available for sale). He had a number of UDA signed Mantle items, but in addition to those, he had this Mantle signed ball (signed on a Bobby Brown baseball). It obviously isn’t the prettiest of Mantle signatures, but shakiness on the Ms aside, what does the board think of authenticity? I have no idea as to how it when it was acquired, although it’s not a recent purchase (my father hadn’t purchased items in years).

Thanks.

Condolences on your Dad. I am sorry for your loss.

I'll go out on a limb here...

While atypical and not textbook pretty, I think it is likely good. It has many subtle positive traits. Possibly signed while standing or when he was a little "loose."

Thanks so much, everyone. My father's collection was so small at this point, I had assumed it was good (albeit sloppy), especially considering he stored it with the UDA balls. I really appreciate the help.

Maybe walking but not drunk. I saw Mickey fall down drunk. He got up with a laugh and signed the nicest ball you have ever seen.

Hello Jon, condolences on your dad. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news given the situation but I believe this Mantle ball is a forgery. Here are a few examples of this style so you can judge for yourself.

Best Regards,
Casey

Last picture is a Marino ball. That is not close to the legit signature above.

Hey Jon, I see the autographed mantle ball you questioned back in May, is up for sale on eBay.
