Default 1952 Topps and counterfeits/fakes?

Just curious, after recently looking on E-Bay, and considering purchasing some low end/cheaper 52's how many are likely to be fakes?

Most I have looked at the past couple weeks are not graded and most are between $10-$50 bucks that I am interested in.

Will/do some people go to this trouble to make fakes of low end, low value 52 Topps cards?

I was given a bunch of 52 Topps cards so rather than sell them I thought maybe I'd spend some money and collect some, especially the low number/low value ones.

Thoughts?

Irv,

I believe you will be just fine. Buy from sellers who have great feedback and specialize in cards ( not a mishmash of items ). Counterfeiters aren't going to waste time on low end cards.

I love the 52's and hope you will have lots of fun collecting them!

Thanks, KCRfan. That's what I was thinking so I am glad someone else does too.
