I would be hesitant to bid in an auction that hasn't even heard of the "Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards". Seriously, 'not listed in any price guides'?

Doesn't give you much faith in the auction house when they can't find these cards in a price guide.

I saw weird stuff in that place last night. Weird, strange, sick, twisted, eerie, godless, evil stuff. And I want in.

The PSA graded aspect of this group certainly added to the auction price. My set is ungraded. I find the PSA practice of adding a layer of Saran Wrap to an already entombed card annoying. If they would simply create inserts that actually fit the cards, as SGC does, they wouldn't have to do this. For the prices they charge, this doesn't seem like much to ask. Anything other than T206, Goudeys and Topps sized cards seems to throw them for a loop.

DD I was watching this lot too. Had 4 bids until it reached over $5k. I too thought it might be one of those "under-attended" auctions. No such luck. I do agree that, unless there is another motive i.e. it is your lot, it is smarter to be cirmcumspect and not crow about such things on the board. Maybe totally self serving on my part, but just trying to get the most for my money! My two peso's.

No crowing involved. I have no interest in those cards, and thought someone might. I guess the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Like most of the others sets I have, this one began as a single type card - the Wagner. Then I decided I had to have more because they look great together when you line up a few of them. Then one thing led to another.

I had forgotten that the Dreyfuss is a graded card. One of the nice things about a web site is that you can crop out the holder and display your cards in a uniform manner without grading or "ungrading" all of them.
