Default Forum Search using a phrase?

I'm probably missing something obvious, but is there a way to search the forums for an exact phrase?

For example in eBay, I'd just include the phrase in quotes "New York Giants" but when I do that in the Net54 forum search, It still treats each word separately, so I get results for New York Yankees and SF Giants as well as New York Giants.

Thanks.

Try googling site:net54baseball.com “New York Giants”.

That's a great suggestion. It's a great alternative but it doesn't work for the BST section which is members only.

Is there a way to do it from the search within Net54 itself?

Not sure if this will give the same results, but this is a famous suggestion from member Jobu...

A far better way to search the forum for old posts is to go to the url/address box and type "search site:www.net54baseball.com" (without the quotes) followed by a space and then whatever it is that you want to search for.

you might try the words "Good Luck"

searching is not this forum's strongpoint

What I found works best is to search with the most unique/specific word you can. Tapatalk makes it quite easy in my experience.

You might try what I suggested above, but with https://net54baseball.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3 instead of just the forum's URL. The one I just posted is specific to the BST index. I haven't tried it, but it might give you the results you're after.

What he's saying is that since those B/S/T forums are locked down from view until you've logged into the site, web crawlers do not have the ability to index the pages.

Correct. The Google search technique works well for the public forums. So that's helpful to know... but it won't work in BST.

I was hoping there was a syntax that'd work (e.g. "New York Giants" or New+York+Giants or <New York Giants>). But it might not be possible if the software behind Net54 doesn't support it.
