I doubt that! I keep thinking that a common interest in the hobby and some basic courtesy would sustain some discussion from different viewpoints, but I guess maybe we're just past that point as a society. This bums me out but I won't dwell on it.

I think you've nailed it. It's the demonization of those with different opinions (and sometimes it's based only on an assumption of a person's opinion!) that bothers me.
