The Pirate Cards are stunning as well as all the material the have on display. Looking in the glass you just salivate and can only wish that one day you can acquire some items like that. The Garter Jackson as well as the other sets just leave you speechless. Looking very forward to tonight event should be a very memorable experience.

SHILL for me baby!!!

What's the worst that could happen? You go home with a T206 Wagner or a Toleteros Gibson!

PS - Anyone taking my flyers?

Hal,

Yes the flyers are moving and we have given away 8 book so far. Getting a lot of good feed back from people that have read it already. All good stuff for you.

Thanks!

But alas... I think my future is more controlled by what happens at the House of Blues tonight than it is by any books sales!!

i am registered to bid by phone, but in order to get a call from them during the auction, you have to (prior to the live auction) let them know if you are willing to bid the low estimate on the lots you are interested in...

we'll see what happens.

Couldn't anybody just say "sure, I'll bid the low end of the estimate?"

They had better be calling everyone who is even remotely interested.

I don't want to hear tomorrow about people who wanted to spend but couldn't get through.

Then again... I know half of you guys will tell me this tomorrow just to get my goat!

Hal- Every auction I've ever run I get a call from somebody the day after who says he forgot to bid and he was willing to go higher...I stopped listening to them. It's just noise.

barry ur right. if i was interested in a card i'd be counting up till the day of the auction, not totally forget about it until the day after.

the national must be going well, they're all too busy to update us rubes at home.

I can honestly say that I hope everyone there only fights for your and Scott Mosley's lots and leaves everything else to go for minimum bids...

Hal,
I wouldn't worry about that Wagner. I bet there are dealers that will bid it up to 130k or even more.

I'd bid more than $130,000 for the Wagner...but I'm saving my pennies for my next visit to Vegas. Barry, I'm just trying to be original with my excuses.

jeff- that's the way they do it, they said they have a limited amount of phone lines, and only will be calling serious bidders, i guess i can understand that.

I've had a crazy two weeks with work, totally unavailable all day and night. And now I'm on vacation for two weeks in Bridgehampton...kind of.

Hal,

Have one of your flyers on my desk. A suggestion to my wife for a Bday present.

Hal,

With your book and the proceeds from the Mastro sale you are going to be rolling in the bucks, why not buy a vacation home on the West Coast?

Hal, why not fund a think tank to finally put to rest the question that has been haunting us all for the past few months: What is the true effect of "The Card" on the value of Barry Bonds memorabilia?
