Default I'm just back from the auction

Posted By: Steve Murray

but had to leave because I was whipped out on my two lots, the e99's and e100's.

The Pirate set went for $800,000 and with the juice that's $960,00!! Richard Masson was the winner on the floor. Had a little phone competition but it fell by the wayside.

Richard also won the e99's and e100's together with a few other lots. The Wags was still to be auctioned off so I'll let someone else comment on that one.

The prices were very good for the consignors (as well as Mastro) but the Pirate set came in right where I expected.

Nice pickups Richard.

Stumpy is going to have one of the best collections ever!!

I know for a fact he has some KICK BUTT E107's and 1886 Old Judges that he got from me.

He is buying EVERYTHING!!!

I'm just glad that I'll be able to say that I know the man who cornered the vintage card market!

$95,000 (I think) I wrote down the prices in my book but like an idiot left it out in the car. I'm sitting here in my skivies so I'm not about to go get it.

I was bidding on Lot #11 on the Phone. Mayfair Candies. I tried to bid $10,500 when the bid was $10,000. Was not accepted...but look at Rule #5....

5. To place a proxy bid via internet, fax or phone, you must bid at least 10% higher by whole dollar amounts up to $10,000. After $10,000 the minimum proxy bid increment is 5%. There are absolutely no exceptions to the raise amounts. Placing a bid constitutes acceptance of the terms of sale as outlined herein. Bid amounts utilized during the Live Event are employed at the sole discretion of the auctioneer, but will generally increase based on the above increments.

Last I checked 5% of $10,000 * 5% is $10,500...

The Jackson Boston Garter went for $175,000 not including the juice. Others to go including juice are E90-1 Jax $36K, Josh Gibson $38.4K, and the Wag $196K. Surprises was the Huggins 1927 WS ring at $324K and the W555 Complete box at $22K. Leon was bidding hard to get it but backed off at the end to a phone bidder.

Everything was first class and Mastro did an amazing job, it was a great event to attend.

Cobb/Cobb about $60K with juice
Jax tin top about $25K
Negro league team around $20K

This are estimates did not write them down and going by memory so they can be a couple K either way.

I still have no clue what half of my things sold for.

You would think they could pay someone $6.50/hour to put the sale prices on the net.

With the HAMMER is the juice...yes that is the final price not including shipping and insurance. All the buyers had to get the cards shipped to them or pay the state tax...no brainer there.

If I had $84k to spend, it would not be on a t205 Cobb. I'd rather have the Tin Top Jax and Carter 33 Lajoie for a few grand less than what t205 Cobb cost.

Eric: Link to Mastro auction for the T206 Wagner- href="http://tinyurl.com/2r6jgw"

Anybody know when Mastro is going to post prices realized? They said they would do so today but I am not seeing it.

Edited to say "never mind" - prices now posted at Mastro site. Holy Moses!!
