Default Dallas, TX vintage shops/shows

Posted By: Rob

Hi all, I'm going to be in the Dallas area on the weekend of October 13/14. Anyone know of any vintage shops in the area, or will there be any shows that weekend?
Thanks,
Rob

Rob,

I've only lived in the Dallas area for about two years, but I have yet to find a top notch shop.

However, I'm a relative rookie for this area. The person you want to ask is Leon who is in Cleveland this weekend. If he doesn't respond on Monday, repost your question to him. He knows this city better than anyone.

I've lived in dallas for the past 11 years.
Unfortunately, there are no good card shops, much less vintage card shops.
There are a couple of shows that come through Dallas (Arlington) including one Tri-Star show that is reasonable for vintage material, but those are rare.

Rob,
There are very few card shops in Dallas and the ones that remain have no vintage cards. I have lived in Dallas my whole life and there has only been two great shops here ever. Wayne Groves shop, Firstbase, was the first shop here in Dallas and it was really a great shop. The other shop was in Carrollton, which closed down in 1998 due to the owners health.
The Tri-star shows here are not good. All of the real dealers never show. Roger Neufeld shows up and that is the only one that usually shows up.

Regards,
Shane

I have lived in Dallas the last 20 yrs and don't know of any good vintage card shops. I go to the Tri-Star in Arlington about 50% of the time. I walk in and find Roger Neufeldt's table. I look at stuff he has and chat with him for about 20 minutes, make a quick pass around the other 100'ish tables with almost no vintage and leave...There are a couple small shows in Richardson every now and then and I have found a couple odd ball items there...but nothing much. It's at the Richardson Library (a tad north of Dallas but connected)....regards

Are Triple K down the block from me in Plano (corner of Park and Ave K) and Nick's (Southwest Corner of Coit and Campbell).

Whilst you not probably find pre-war cards at either location; you will find a decent amount of pre-1980 (which most people consider vintage) at either place.

Regards
Rich

P.S. -- Roger, in addition, to the shows he comes down for; will also sometimes rent out an hotel meeting room and set up with 15-20 showcases. He'll email you in advance usually about these events. You can see even more of his inventory at those shows
