Default Tickets & programs with notes by the original owner

I found this while scanning my 1968 scored programs.

Let's see some other tickets that wouldn't get slabbed with a high #, but I would argue are worthy of an 11 on a 1 to 10 scale.

Great and for the most part, unappreciated topic in today's world of grading and slabbing. Here's a couple of mine and as you can see, the Reds lost one and won the other game 7...

Default Great thread!

Here is one of my personal favorites that I bought at the National in Chicago 3-4 years ago.
It's a 1919 Washington Senators ticket. The hinky tear and great vintage inscriptions were too cool to pass up.

The fountain pen inscription on the front of the ticket reads:
"Sat. Sept. 20, 1919- Mabel Warren Washington D.C."

The inscription on the back reads:
"This is part of the ticket Uncle John took me to the Ball Game on- He is a regular fan. The games were real good. I really enjoyed them A Double Header- Cleveland, Ohio & Washington. We lost both- Saw the famous "Tris" Speaker from Ohio & Wood (sic Smoky Joe) & Johnson (sig WaJo) of Wash."

No writing but definitely "beaten up." Perry's no-no laminated and carried around in my wallet for a few decades.

Andy - that is the nicest Perry no hitter ticket around, just by virtue of it being in your wallet for so long, it's definitely an "11" using DGS. (the Doug Grading System)

Guy - that program is great (is it scored?), here is the corresponding program to the ticket that started this thread...

Folks have been adding the game details on programs and ticket stubs for over a century now.

This person added the names of the gents with whom he attended this 14 inning World Series classic. They got to witness Mr. Ruth pitch all 14 innings and record a 2-1 win!

Default 1947 World Series!!!

Love this 1947 World Series ticket. The original owner obviously left early in the 9th inning, as the No Hitter ended with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th! I like to think he was a Yankees fan that left early to catch the train back home only to arrive and find out that the Dodgers won!!!

I've been scanning all of my programs, and came upon this note written in a 1962 Chicago All Star game program :

“Flukey” call? More like a bullshit call.

I remember listening to that game on the radio.

I keep score and add notations every game; friends who were at the game, weather, stars for good plays, maybe something funny or interesting I saw in the stands. ( I'm a Cub fan and sit in the bleachers for 30-35 games a year. I also attend an occasional White Sox and Brewers game).

Like beat up old cards that don't grade well, the notated programs and tickets tell a story. I think they're pretty interesting and cool.

And, of course I save all my scorecards. It's kind of fun looking back at them even though all the game stats are online now days.
