Default Miller B18s

Picked up two different 1914 Otto Miller B18s.

One is the standard dark blue infield variety, whereas, the 2nd one is a baby blue, light blue infield. Not sure if it's a missed color pass or simply a freak. Thrilled to have it either way!

Great cards this month. Picked this up from the outside world. Always appreciate having at least one Frank Nagy card in a set I'm collecting.

Excited to get my first Ruth. Prices on these (and Bulgarias) have really exploded over the past couple years, so I probably bought at the top of the market, but I'd rather pay too much than run the risk of never getting a Ruth. The scratch on his arm is on the (jumbo) top loader he's in, the card itself is fine.

I'm admittedly a bit nervous about buying Ruth raw, but I think it's good. It passes the black light test. It has a pronounced rosette pattern under magnification; I don't know when they started doing that, but I've got 34 and 35 Goudeys that also have rosettes (although not to the same degree). Let me know if anybody has any concerns about it.

Picked up this very nice R310 Butterfinger Lou Gehrig in Heritage last weekend, just arrived today. It will look great next to its cousin in the new display cabinet

Thanks Ryan I am very happy with this month (and I have 1 surprise coming next month)

After that I am probably on hold for a while to do some paying back and replenishing the funds. LOL

I feel like the turtle with my collection slow but steady

Gary, that actually is an image of Jack Barry and not Frank Baker. Both, of course, were part of Connie Mack's "Million Dollar Infield."

Great pickups Jeff & Mjpadilla84, congrats!

Decided to start a couple new sets this month. The Marquard, Clarke, and Chase were all board pickups (thanks fellas). I love the Clarke in particular...such a great pose!

Been too busy for cards lately…super late to this thread, but super stoked for your great July pick-up Prizner. I remember showing off a similar acquisition in the April 2013 pick-ups thread. Irreplaceable! Congrats my friend! Enjoy the late nights.

National convention pickup from a Net54er we all know. I've been hunting a stellar Brown portrait for years FINALLY added to the collection.

Thanks for that, I’ll take another lap Sunday to see who’s looking to cut and run. Might be able to top this one but it won’t technically be prewar if I get the one I’m hunting.

Thanks Jeff! Coming from you that is a very kind compliment. Your Flickr album, “Faves”, do you own all those cards or just posting your favorite cards that you would like to own?

Hi,

Thanks just how FLKR works if you fav someone’s card then it saves it in that folder. So many people have so many great cards and diverse cards. Love seeing everyone’s unique collections.

I only have the babe Ruth album(3 cards), Joe jackson Album (7 cards) and Ty Cobb Album (2 cards).

Many years to collect those. Slow process between some of the cards between locating them and then affording them

AWESOME collection! Love them all, but the Jackson collection has me picking up my jaw up off the floor. Love it!

Thanks I am a jackson collector as my first passion. Missed out on many recently because so many came up at once and not liquid enough get them all.
Have to wait until next time around.
My biggest regret is I had a 1911 Pinkerton Joe jackson but sold it so I could get my Ruth Rookie.
