It was actually a group of nine. 7/10/08. I found those on Pinterest. Yes, Pinterest I had always thought Pinterest was a “chick site” but I’ve found a lot of stuff on there that relates to other interests of mine (motorcycles, construction, cars, etc.). A search of baseball pennants didn’t yield much but those popped up.

My favorite Cubs pennant logo … now being auctioned with a high starting price. I hope the bears at least know each other …

These ASCO played pennants are sooooooo cool. Would love to know if there’s a checklist of sorts anywhere.

I could start a whole new tread, but I won’t….if I did, it would be titled “So glad I don’t collect cards”….I just scrolled through a 430 page catalog….380 pages of cards, some Pokemon and not one pennant. Literally ANY card can be had if you’ve got the $$$. Meanwhile, pennants and the other stuff I like can only be found through diligence, networking and good luck. I guess I’m saving a lot of money.

The auction houses have been extremely disappointing lately.

A lot of the rare/good ones have all but dried up. As an example, you never see oversized teens pennants anymore (on eBay, catalog auctions, or anywhere else).

Much of the “drought” may be that auction houses are more aggressively pursuing cards these days. They are easier to store, easier to ship and are realizing crazy prices. Makes little sense, given that most anything aside from a Wagner or Plank can readily be found any day of the week.

Collecting memorabilia is much harder work and requires lots of luck these days. Huggins & Scott always has nice pennants (last night being no exception), but the “Big Boys” in the hobby have been pretty pathetic.
