Default It took me 20 years to complete

I won my first BF3 premium over 20 years ago and my last one in January. There are only 10 known in the set.
My final one was the Cobb. As you can see it is trimmed and has sewing machine stitching around its perimeter. I have a theory about that. I used to have a McGraw pennant trimmed the same way. Both were probably trimmed and sewn onto large in-store displays advertising a bread promotion. The "blotter" below would explain that promotion.
Whatever you like to believe is fine with me. I am just excited to have finished the project. At 81 I doubt I have another 20 year one in the system.

Default Congratulations

I have seen one other Cobb that has the light pink tint like your McGraw. No stitching or trim around that one. Same photo.

Fantastic! Would the Evers in the blotter picture make 11 known in the set?

Default blotter

Hank, The pennant of Evers on the blotter is actually taken from the pillow top premium and enlarged.

That's very impressive and encouraging to those of us who are chasing items that never seem to be available. BTW, I bet that anyone who can complete this Herculean task has lots of gas left in the tank.

Hello... Would you be willing to sell the Grover Alexander pennant? I can offer you a strong price or a comparable trade. Many thanks for your consideration.

Hahaha.... just kidding. Congrats on completing one of the toughest sets around. A tremendous labor of love and very impressive accomplishment.

I hope someday to obtain just one!

A big congrats for finishing a tough long term project Matty. I know that finishing the long ones is met with great joy, but also a little sadness that it's over.

That’s great, Matty! Do you also have an example of the “felt pillow top”?

Rob,I have seen 3 or 4 for sale over the last ten years but all going for mega bucks. The one posted is by far the nicest.

If you don't mind me asking, what would constitute "mega bucks"?

Default pillow top

Rob, There is a rather distressed one on ebay right now that you can buy for around 5000. The one I listed above would go for at least double that.

That guy's stuff is always priced waaaaay above market. Sits there forever and rarely (if ever) sells. What would you say should be the price of the eBay example?

Default pillow top

Mark, When there have only been two or three on the market in the last ten years it is hard to establish a price. That being said, I would not pay 5m for the ebay example.
Another person might. I saw another example sell, again distressed, for 3500. I think our moderator owned one at one time. But again, I stand by the value of the sample I posted. Nothing comes close to it in quality.

Thanks much.... Yeah, $3,500 seems more like it.

As for the one you posted, it is just an incredible survivor. Someone really knew how to properly protect that one. Always amazes me when something of that vintage turns up in such stellar condition.

Thanks again, and congrats!!!
