I've been trying to pair up the 150 Series cards (Brown HINDU back) of a given subject with their 460 Series counterparts
with a Red HINDU back. Needless to say, this will be a long term challenge.

[linked image]

Here is a list of all the currently known Brown & Red HINDU pairings......

Brown HINDU....................Red HINDU

Bender (portrait)............Bender (no trees)
M. Brown (Cubs)............M. Brown (Chicago)
Burch (batting)..............Burch (fielding)
Chance (port-red)..........Chance (port-yellow)
Davis (throwing).............Davis (A's)
Donlin (fielding)..............Donlin (bat)
Doolin (portrait).............Doolan (bat)
Doyle (throwing)............Doyle (bat)
Evers (Cubs-bat)...........Evers (Chicago-bat)
Griffith (portrait)............Griffith (bat)
Johnson (portrait)..........Johnson (pitching)
Joss (portrait)...............Joss (pitching)
Konetchy (glove hi)........Konetchy (glove low)
Magee (portrait)............Magee (bat)
McGraw (portrait)..........McGraw (glove)
O'Leary (portrait)..........O'Leary (hands/knees)
Rucker (portrait)...........Rucker (throwing)
Stahl (no glove)............Stahl (glove)
Wagner (bat on left)......Wagner (bat on right)
Willis (portrait)..............Willis (throwing)
CYoung (portrait)..........CYoung (glove)

Just an alternative approach to collecting T206's....if any you have tried collecting T206 players in this fashion, why not
show or tell of your cards ?

Also, if you have any HINDU pairings that are not listed here, please tell us of them ? ?

Certainly, Donlin might be a possible Trifecta....however, I've never seen his seated pose with a Brown HINDU.

Have any of you ?

A Net54 reader emailed me confirming Sheckard with a Red HINDU back. Therefore, we have a new Brown/Red HINDU pair
to add to the list.

Check out your T206 rare backs and see if you have any Brown and/or Red HINDU cards that aren't on the above list. Per-
haps, we can come up with some more HINDU pairs....or even another TRIFECTA ?

I'm certain there are more out there, so thanks for taking the time to look.

So far, we have 22 "HINDU pairings". There are 41 confirmed Red HINDU cards, and we all know how rare they are. Trying
to match them up with their Brown HINDU counterparts is certainly quite a challenge. But, then isn't that why many of us
love these T206's.....they provide us an endless thrill of collecting them.

Thank you Brian W and Jim R for showing us your HINDU's.

I don't think will be able to pair up your Brown Reulbach (glove) or your Brown Wiltse portrait (no cap) with their respective 460 series
counterparts. Reulbach and Wiltse do not appear to exist with Red HINDU backs.

Best regards,

Red Hindus are tough to determine because a Hindu find could probably turn up unconfirmed red backs.

Example-Giants with sweater -460 only cards -meaning they were only printed in the last series-same as the red Hindu cigarette ad. There are 8 Giants with sweater. The only player of the 8 I have ever seen red Hindu on is Crandall.

Bridwell
Crandall-I think this is the only one confirmed with RH
Doyle
McGraw-McGraw has glove at hip confirmed.-not portrait with sweater-cap
Murray
Schlei
Seymour
Wiltse

1st....the 150 series cards of 5 of these NY Giants subjects exist with Brown HINDU backs; therefore, there's a high
probability that their 460 series counterparts may be found with Red HINDU backs.

2nd.....however, the following conditions dictate whether your NY Giants "sweater guys" were printed on Red HINDU
backs.

Bridwell.....................possible with LENOX....if so, no Red HINDU

Crandall.....................confirmed with Red HINDU

Doyle (bat)................confirmed with Red HINDU
Doyle (portrait)...........Red HINDU possible, unconfirmed with LENOX

McGraw (glove)...........confirmed with Red HINDU
McGraw (port-cap)......confirmed with LENOX, thus no Red HINDU

Murray (portrait)..........confirmed with LENOX, thus no Red HINDU

Schlei (portrait)...........possible with LENOX....if so, no Red HINDU

Seymour (portrait)........possible with LENOX....if so, no Red HINDU

Wiltse (port-cap).........confirmed with LENOX, thus no Red HINDU

Default Thanks Jim

I guess that pretty well cinches it....one Red HINDU, six LENOX's, and Bridwell is unknown.

LENOX
______

Doyle (portrait)
McGraw (portrait-cap)
Murray (portrait)
Schlei (portrait)
Seymour (portrait)
Wiltse (portrait-cap)

Red HINDU
_________

Crandall (portrait-cap)

Guys,

I thought there was a confirmed Cobb Red Hindu?

Was that card deemed rebacked or what?

Cobb Red Portrait/Red Hindu with Cobb Bat On/Brown Hindu would be another pair wouldn't it?

Default Jim R......

Your two Ames cards with Brown HINDU back is a start on a possible "HINDU Trifecta". Unfortunately,
the Ames card in the 350/460 series has not been confirmed with a Red HINDU back, and, there is an
extremely low probability that such a front/back combo will eventually be found.

This is so, because this Ames exists with an American Beauty 460 back. As noted in a recent thread
AB 460 and Red HINDU backs are mutually exclusive with the cards in the 350/460 series.

Robert A, you asked........

" I thought there was a confirmed Cobb Red Hindu?

Was that card deemed rebacked or what?

Cobb Red Portrait/Red Hindu with Cobb Bat On/Brown Hindu would be another pair wouldn't it? "

1st....are you referring to this recently posted Cobb of mine ?

Or, have you seen this Cobb with a Brown HINDU back elsewhere ? ?

[linked image]

If it is this one that you are referring to, then I will tell you that it is a "re-backed" card that I acquired about 10 years ago.
In the late 1990's a rash of re-backed T206 star cards appeared in the hobby. These cards were very professionally altered
and some even were graded by SGC and PSA. Two of the most "notorious" T206's were a Red Cobb with a DRUM back and a
Matty (portrait) with a Red HINDU back. The latter being an impossible front/back combo.

2nd....that brings me to the recent Red Cobb/Red HINDU card you alluded to. Frankly, I am very skeptical about this card as
being a authentic. I would like to see at least one or two more of these to feel confident that this front/back combo is real.

Thanks for raising this issue regarding the Cobb's. For some time, I have been doing some research on the lack of Cobb cards
with HINDU backs. And, I will be posting a thread on this subject soon.

Default Show us your T206 Brown & Red HINDU pairs ?

A Net54 reader emailed me his L.Tannehill card with a Brown HINDU back. So, combined with my 460 series Tannehill
card with a Red HINDU back we have a new pair to add to the list. With this pair we now have 23 "HINDU pairings".
There are 41 confirmed Red HINDU cards and many Brown HINDU cards, so we should be able to pair up a few more
of these 150 series/460 series T206's. Below is the list of known HINDU pairs. Check out your T206's and see if you
can come up with new inputs.

Final run on this thread to see if we can come up with any more T206 "HINDU pairs".

Or perhaps, a "trifecta" like the M. Brown cards.

What about the Waddells?

The hindu ad shows the waddell throwing example. It makes sense that the card would exist although I don't remember seeing that card.

I believe both the portrait and the throwing could exist.

Hi Rob,
Rube is only available in the 150 and 350 series, so no Red Hindu....However, he should have 2 Brown Hindu's, the portrait which I have and the throwing pose from the ad that I am missing...

Be well Brian

PS You could make another list of "Brown only Hindu combo's"
Mathewson
Lajoie
Clarke..... etc.
