Default T210-7 Louie Hobbs

Thanks to Lenny for this cool T210-7!

He might not be Roy but the card is a NATURAL fit for my collection.

Nice pick up Phil.

I may be slow on the uptick, but I just noticed the spelling of Wagner's name. Honas instead of Honus. Interesting.

Hi Danny! Good to hear from you. Thanks for the shout out and the kind words. I figured I may be competing against you on the e105 Wagner (and perhaps the E105 Cobb a few months ago?). I hope all is well and life and collecting is going well.

Phil, congrats! That is my favorite card. In fact, I love it so much I commission Tim Carroll to make a Cut Art piece of that card/PC. Great example of a great card. Enjoy it.

Mike, great Cobb. I like seeing you grab that (vs a 1993 box of cards!)

I've already got an e105 wagner batting fortunately. Stumbled across one soon after we last talked. Still looking for a cobb though. 5 more to go in the set.

Great Cobb/Wagner!

One of the coolest cards from the era i my opinion. Both deadball era titans together on one great card!

Thanks Chad & Erick,
Like Ryan has said before, that card represents the passing of the torch between two of the greatest of the game.

I already posted this one in a separate tribute to Home Run Baker, but I don’t post often and don’t often have a “card” worthy of posting, so here it is again!

Happy to add this to my Krause back run for a non-crazy price

Still need the SweetCap 350/25, EPDG, Polar Bear and Sov350s if anyone has a spare copy. Not quite ready to tackle the Broad Leaf, Carolina Brights or Drum backs just yet

Default 1912 Madden Zeenut

Not a biggie, but helped out by a board member. Madden played 1 game in 1910 for NYAL. He is the more obscure of the 2 Tommy Maddens in that era.

I didn't think I would ever land a E125 American Die Cut card, but if your standards are low enough, there is always a way. This falls squarely within my usual 'avoid any card that has defects that detract or mar the viewing of the player's face', but since his face isn't present, I feel I have successfully sidestepped that dilemma completely.

And lacking a head really makes Heinie's belt and socks pop.

Ed awesome piece! Ellam and Molesworth are the only Barons in the T206. Ellam is mislabeled and thus an error card.

I am sure Mr. Logan (Barons owner) would love to have that in his office one day!

Enjoy this great pickup! If you ever decide to part with it let me know.

Default RPPCs

While not up there with Cobb Caramels (super cards by the way), I picked up a couple of old RPPCs.
  • The first is the Leavitt Institute Baseball Team from Turner, ME. I believe the postcard dates from c1900s.
  • I'm still trying to identify the team on the 2nd card. The card dates from 1904-1918. The letters P.N.A are written on the back. That could be unrelated. The hunt continues.

I wonder if Madden"s smile indicates he knows he isn't going to make it in baseball but doesn't give a s#@t.

As a Memphis Chicks (Chickasaws, Turtles, Egyptians) fan, that is insanely cool! A copy of that, nicely matted and framed, would look fantastic with a period photo of old Rickwood. I just recently picked up a McGregor Goldsmith 97 Official Southern Association game-used ball, complete with box, that has a penciled notation on the box bottom that the ball is from a 1950 game between the Chicks and the Barons in Birmigham. Very, very nice pickup, sir!

Added a tough Hornsby thanks to fellow Net54er Matt. I’d consider this pretty good centering for an E220.

New to this and seeing if this works...These are two that I picked up through the Memory Lane auction in July: my first Wagner, and my first 19th century card full-stop (had to be the Mets' first ace):

Default T3 Hooks

Another one down, 23 more to go. This may not be the prettiest T3 in my collection, but it has the coolest back! My first "No offer" back.
