Default Oddball Wrapper............OPC or Topps?

Picked up this wrapper at the National and wondering if someone could help.........it's the same layout as a 1963 Topps wrapper but there wasn't a mainstream OPC set until 1965. I also have a 1964 wrapper set up the same way. Are these OPC wrappers for Topps issued in Canada?

Maybe someone has a definitive answer but stating the obvious on the card, they were distributed in Canada, whatever they were . Hope all is well, Tom.

Tom, Topps sold US product in Canada back then but often used the hybrid US/Canada wrapper and not the type you show. I can't swear it means every product with a similar hybrid wrapper was sold in Canada but it allowed Topps to do so if they wanted. Even in early 60's Football, where they also made CFL cards, the Topps NFL cards had similar wording on the wrappers. Canadian law varied over the years and specific changes to the wording may have been needed to comply, which might be why yours is OPC only. It's also possible marketing in certain provinces caused Topps to specify a truly Canadian origin on some packs versus others. Hockey packs vary wildly too, especially in the 50's and early 60's.

There's a lot of vintage Topps product in the hobby that came from Canada but there's also a lot of open questions about what was sold where and why it was packaged a certain way.
