Default 1915 Red Sox / Phillies World Series

Posted By: Scott Sarian

I was hoping for a rematch of the Red Sox - Phillies 1915 World Series to show off this recent pickup, but alas, it isn't going to happen.

Nonetheless, I was happy to obtain several Boston newspapers from the 1910s, including this page from an October 3, 1915 Boston Globe. It has several articles and pictures about the upcoming World Series. This page is one of my favorites, featuring head shots of each of the Red Sox players. Ruth is top row, far left on the first pic. (Sorry for some of the poor pics on the other ones; I could only fit portions onto my scanner, so the rest are from my camera.)
