Default Raw 1970 Kelloggs Cards?

Just discovered this set, so a rookie question... I collect my sets raw. I don't even put them in pages or CardSavers, just stack them in an appropriately sized box so that they're easy to handle, like the old days. Assuming that none of the 1970 Kelloggs cards is cracked to begin with, can they be stored safely like this, or would they be more likely to curl?

They will curl. Eventually the humidity in the air will effect the paper differently than the plastic covering. When that happens the curl happens. If you try and straighten it out after that then it's likely cracks will occur.

That's not to say they can't be enjoyed after curling. It's become commonplace to see them like that.

They can't really be enjoyed after they curl... and they can't be repaired. If they aren't already curled, immediately put each card in a card saver after purchase. Not an old crappy scratched card saver. Use brand new clear card savers. Then you can really enjoy them with out having them damage themselves. One of the most beautiful (cheap) vintage sets ever produced. Editor's Note: The 1970 Kellogg's football set is just as beautiful and much cheaper than the baseball.

Welcome to the wonder full world of Kellogg's, one of my favorite pursuits. I can mirror what others have said mostly. If it is flat and raw, then top loaders are fine. If they. have minor curl, I keep them in top loaders made for thick cards which allow for some curl while protecting and preventing cracking. Like said before, if they are curled they will crack at some point if flattened. I I have multiple sets of all of the years either finished or still in progress on my second set. I have NM sets in pages in binders. Then I keep most of my second sets stacked in the plastic boxes. If all of the cards have the same curl and they stack neatly together, additional curl is mostly prevented. If you can avoid temperature extremes and humidity they can be safely kept and enjoyed. For stars apart from sets, I do the same things. Then there are the curled stars/extras. I have more than my share of badly curled football and baseball, but darned if I have any real desire to move them.

Default 1970 & 1972 Kelllogg's

Sorry to jump in with a post that is a bit off the main discussion. I love both the 1970 & 1972 kellogg's set and collect very clean, unopened packs from both years. If anyone has any available, please let me know!
