Default 1951 Bowman Mantle opinions

Hey guys, was very very fortunate to acquire this beautiful card. I was told it’s authentic but probably altered. The width looks just short of perfect. Is there anything else you guys see besides that? I’m a Jeter collector so these old cards are not my expertise. I know people can change the color and clean up the card. Just wondering what your thoughts are.

Thanks, Marc S.

Self evident, assuming that your ruler is accurate. Card should be 3 1/8" by 2 1/16." Submit for grading?

Looks good and authentic. Probably trimmed, but still worth a pretty penny. Nice copy

Thanks for the feedback. I’m not sure about submitting it. The card is too beautiful to be put in a slab. I really do not sell, so to me grading it makes no sense. Plus that’s subjective anyways and if it was altered I would hate to see that. I personally care more about it being authentic. Once again I really appreciate the feedback.

If you aren't selling, I wouldn't grade it either. No red flags or concerns on the authenticity front at all to make that worthwhile. Great looking example. Now you have to go get the 52 Bowman to pair with it!
