Default T206 Barger no name on front

I'm really happy to pick up this card not counting the printers proofs I've only seen a handful of legit no name T206's.
[IMG][/IMG]

Once I had it hand I could tell that nothing had been done to remove the name
[IMG][/IMG]

There's also other clues that it's legit, this Barger is missing the dark brown in his hair, eyebrows, eyes and other areas that's associated with the printing of the caption.

You can see the similar affect on this Jones with a caption jump

There was a thread on here about another Barger with no name back in 2012 the image in that thread is missing I reached out to Brian but he didn't have the card or an image of it anymore.
If anyone has a image of this card I would be interested to know if it's the same card or a different one.

Awesome card, Pat. Your theory on the shifting looks right to me based on the Jones card.

There's the Phillippe that Pete had which is an action pose I've also seen a Schmidt throwing that is possibly a no name but that one is cut low enough that if the caption was printed lower than normal it could have been cut off.

The list of possible examples that I've seen are

Abbott (scrap missing several colors)
Brashear
Clarke, Fred (portrait) (this one is also missing the team logo on his uniform)
Phillippe
Schmidt (throwing) (caption possibly cut off)
Unglaub

I've heard of a few others but haven't seen images.

I just found a post on the Schmidt where Chris and Johnny said it came back as an erasure.

The one thing I have noticed on the ones I have seen is the absence of the little specks of ink in the location the name should be.

If you take a high end scan and look at it on your big high def TV or use a top lighted microscope. When you look at the white border as a whole it is covered with a lot of tiny specks of ink. Then when you get to the spot that should have the name all those tiny specks of ink are also some how not there. Just an observation.

I forgot I had an image of another no name scrap this McGinley

[IMG][/IMG]

Coincidently the Clarke that along with the name is also missing the team letters on the uniform was just listed on ebay.

Like the Barger I posted that one is also missing brown used for the caption in areas, you can see it best in the area I circled

[IMG][/IMG]

The same brown used in the caption is the reason that unlike other no name T206's the Clarke is missing the team lettering on his jersey.

That's why of this group the Gibson Chris has/had is the only one with the team lettering ghost on the back.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

I also think the Clarke is missing a light Grey that might have been used in some of the captions
