Default O/T: 45th anniversary. June 12, 1970. Dock Ellis no hitter.

I know the no hitter has been mentioned in another thread, but today is the 45th anniversary. Time to watch "No No: A Dockumentary" after the Pirates game

I can't imagine even pitching on LSD let alone a no hitter in front of thousands of people.

But then all those after school PBS specials scared me straight because I would only ever do that stuff if I was alone or with someone.

I watched the animated Doc no-no version a few years and recently the Documentary. Enjoy it all but there is a school of thought that he basically made the LSD part up or maybe he did take it day before but was fine on game day. Whatever.

His story has grown and changed over the years. Put me in the "made it all up" camp.

The one thing about the game is that it was by no means a masterpiece. I believe he struck out six. I know he walked eight and hit two more. There was some rush hour traffic on the basepaths.
