Lovely auction, Al! One of my favorites to watch. Left this one happy as both an auction winner and a consignor.

Cheers

Default Zimmerman postcard

What was that Heinie Zimmerman postcard described as pc758-2? I am familiar with the pc758 Max Stein postcards, but could not find much on this issue. I did not see it on old cardboard or Anson's site.

I did not see it until it was too late to bid early this morning when it popped up on the recent bids page at $100. I would have wanted to bid w/o knowing what it was because that seemed like a really good price. Is there a checklist or more info about this issue?

Also, I did not bid on the Giants/Cubs scorecard, but thought it was interesting that Evers and Donlin batted clean-up.

I got the MINO and the Tiernan. Thanks

It's just a Max Stein, all the Zimmerman's have US Pub backs, guess that's what SGC is calling a pc758-2.

Nice auction Al.

I went to bed at midnight MST winning the one lot I really wanted but unfortunately woke up outbid.
I guess I should have stayed up.
Congrats to whoever won the 1890-91 John Ewing cabinet. That was a nice piece.

If you were outbid on the Ewing, then yes, I wish you would have stayed up and bid . I consigned it, and was sad to see it go . I guess tis' the season to especially think of others, so I'm happy for the winner and that I'll have some more Holiday shopping money. Can now afford to give actual lumps of coal, instead of the usual pictures of lumps of coal.

Thanks for the answer and the info.

Also, I had that Ewing on my bidder card, but was way down the under-bidder line. There are so many auctions coming up this week and I don't want to spread too thin.

I’m in the same boat. I think the Ewing cabinet sold for a great price, I just wasn’t going to go any higher because there are few items coming up in REA that I’d much rather have; and there’s only so much money to go around.🙂

Todd,

If I didn't fall asleep, I was going to put a bump bid on the Ewing. The grade didn't influence me a bit. That cabinet looks much better than the grade. Great eye appeal.

I got a couple lots but the Ewing and another were at the top of my list but I missed them because I'M GETTING OLD... I hate getting older... next thing you know - your snoozing.... crap....

Apologies Al, I meant to bid on the Babe Ruth snapshots, but the excitement of the last Slayer show last night was too much for me.

Doug,
I’m assuming you were at the show, and if so, I’m super jealous. Gary Holt has been one of my favorite guitar players since the early Exodus days.
I was on vacation when Slayer came through Salt Lake this year and was totally bummed I missed them. I’m hoping Slayer ends up being like KISS who’s been doing “final tours” for the last 15 years.😂
