Default Off topic antique question.

Not sports related. Picked this up with a lot of bats. Anyone have a idea what this was used for?

It has 8 sides and has a metal tip at the end. One person I talked to thinks it might have been used as a old bed smoother. Thanks

Crazy guess here but it almost looks like a partially turned, from original board, bat? A smoother sounds plausible too .

Looks like an intruder demotivator to me. Once you've knocked him down, you poke him with the metal tip to see how motivated he is to keep intruding. If he's still moving, he might need another application of the demotivator.

I'm wondering if the metal end had a crank attached and it was used in a well to reel up a bucket.
