Default Brooklyn Bridegroom/Caruthers experts

Hoping someone here can help me identify the players in the attached photo.

Specifically, is that Bob Caruthers sitting immediately to the manager's right in the photo?

This photo looks so different than the "classic" version that you see all the time...and in that picture Caruthers looks unmistakably like Caruthers in all his Parisian Bob style.

thanks for looking

Mike

I think Caruthers may be in the top row 1st on the left. The player you are asking about in the seated row looks like Foutz.

I am so bad at this...even when I have other pictures to compare. There were three gentlemen that I thought shared some traits with Caruthers...but frankly with the mustaches, etc they all start to blend together. It’s funny but the guy on the upper left wasn’t even in my “top 5” of choices

Are you sure it isn't the player back row second right? Just kidding. It looks like Caruthers. Oh it can't be, look at the ears and the eye color is all wrong.

I'd go with Caruthers. Wanna start a poll?

I ran it through Microsoft's facial-match program using two known photos of Caruthers for comparison, and as you can see, neither is a match. I also include the comparison of the two known Caruthers photos to each other to show that they do come up as a match. Hope that helps.

Steve

My guess is that Caruthers is not in that photo. If he is, I would agree with Gary's pick or front row 2nd from left.

I now think that “none of the above” is probably the right answer....Caruthers may not be in the picture at all. The date says 1889 but no way to verify that accuracy...and there are certainly fewer players in this photo than others I have seen so maybe Parisian bob and some friends were down the street...

I had posted this image in a thread on Baseball Fever a couple of years ago, and the IDs that I assigned were:

Standing (L-R): George Pinkney (3B), Mickey Hughes (P), Oyster Burns (RF), Darby O'Brien (LF), Hub Collins (2B).
Seated (L-R): Pop Corkhill (CF), Tom Lovett (P), Bob Clark (C), Bill McGunnigle (Mgr.), Dave Foutz (1B), Joe Visner (C), Germany Smith (SS).

Pinkney is definitely a good possibility.

Baseball Reference indicates 5'7", 138 pounds. The player to the right of the manager seems to fit the weight (looks like one of the lightest guys in the picture - the other being the guy on the other side of the manager). After looking at pictures of Clark, it does look like Clark.
