Default Holy Cow! WOW! 1960's wax.....Pictures Added!

I have a dealer friend I have known for about 40 years. He has a small store in Philadelphia and used to buy things and stash away for the future. He recently sold a lot of his 1980's wax / rack / cello cases in one shot
He just sent me a text that he found three wax packs......one from 1960.....one from 1966 and one from 1969.
He is not into PSA or BBC but I know I will convince him to allow me to submit them for authentication for him......after giving them a good look over. He is thinking about retiring so I know he will want to sell them. Anyone know how much these would be worth considering they are legit? I wish I knew how to post pictures.......
Thanks,
Bob

Oh yeah. Then he proceeds to tell me about a lot of other great stuff he found in his safe that he has not opened in years.

Depends on the series and pack type. BBCE has lots of 1960’s unopened wax for the first time in a long time listed so that can give you an idea.

They even have a complete 1968 wax box!

BBCE is a good place to go.

As far as pictures (and I think this needs to be a sticky because it seems most people on here don't know how to attach pictures)

Use a site like Imgur or Flickr. Upload the picture from your computer then use the IMG code and paste it into the text of the post. Make sure to edit the size of the picture or it'll be the size of the computer screen, haha.

The code will look something like ...

[img]text....text[img]

Sorry but we do not know which series any of the packs are from. The exception is that he wrote Hi on the 1969 pack but if that is accurate is anyone's guess. He had no idea he even had these packs until cleaning out a safe he had them stored in and has not been opened for manyyears.
Thanks,
Bob

I believe the 1969 pack is either 1st or 2nd series. Series 3-4 had Deckle Edge Cards and 5-7 had Rub Offs and they were advertised on the wrapper.

Update:
My friend had them sent to Steve and the 1960 pack is good. He did not authenticate the pack as it needs to go through PSA so he will be doing just that.
The other two packs were questionable. Not sure what he will be doing with those.
I am sure he will sell the 1960 pack when he gets it back.

I recently had a 1968 pack and with a little “ detective work” I figured out who was on the front and back. You could see through the wrapper and I compared what I saw with my 68 set.
Can you make out any cards?

No. I tried when I had them in hand and could not make out any names. I thought all three were good packs though.

Well, just because they couldn't be certified as unopened doesn't mean they actually aren't. It means that BBCE couldn't make the determination. They could still be good, or they could be resealed.

Yea they could still be legit. I was wondering what a fair price to offer would be...... I would love to get the 1969 pack.

I just checked out the BBCE website and man, do some of their prices seem insane. $50 for a 1991 Topps wax pack (pack, not box) just because it's a PSA 9?

$195 for a 1988 Topps pack??? I mean, who cares if a 1988 Topps pack is a PSA 10? It's a freaking 1988 Topps pack.
